Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.
Happy Tuesday, y’all! I am very eager to kick winter to the curb, so I thought it would be nice to look ahead to spring by doing this week’s Top 10 Tuesday prompt: Books On My Spring TBR.
I don’t actually plan and follow TBRs that well, because I’m a mood reader. But I’m in the middle of a couple of these (March counts as spring even though it’s cold here, right?), and almost half of are ARCs of books that will be released in May, so I’m confident I’ll at least read those!
1. Obsidio (Illuminae Files #3) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I’ve been waiting for this book since I finished Gemina (Illuminae Files #2), and when they pushed the publication date to March 2018 instead of end-of-year 2017, I was CRUSHED. But I finally got my copy over the weekend, along with meeting Amie and Jay on their Obsidio tour, and am about 150 pages in! I’m simultaneously ready and not ready for the feelsssss.
2. Nemesis by Brendan Reichs
I recently received Nemesis and its sequel, Genesis, from Penguin Teen, and it sounds like a really great series, so I definitely want to start it this spring.
3. Scythe by Neal Shusterman
I had a moment of weakness and bought Scythe and its sequel, Thunder Head, from Barnes and Noble with some late birthday money. They just sound so good!
4. Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney
I won an ARC of this book in a giveaway, and because one of my favorite thriller writers praised it, I started reading it right away. I have about 50 pages left and I can tell you that the twist got me good!
5. Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco
While I wasn’t much of a fan of Kerri’s first book, Stalking Jack the Ripper, many of my friends say that Hunting Prince Dracula is better and have urged me to give it a try. So I shall!
6. Morning Star (Red Rising #3) by Pierce Brown
I honestly don’t know how I didn’t pick up Morning Star as soon as I set down Golden Son (Red Rising #2), because that ending was the bigGEST FREAKIN’ CLIFFHANGER EVER. But, ahem, I digress.
The following are the ARCs I mentioned earlier, all from Penguin Teen and publishing in May. They sound great and I can’t wait to read them!
- Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson
- The Smoke Thieves by Sally Green
- The Strange Fascinations of Noah Hypnotik by David Arnold
- Lies You Never Told Me by Jennifer Donaldson
Do you have a spring TBR planned? Do we have any books in common on our lists?
