The Three Ws

What are you currently reading?

Girl in Snow by Danya Kukafka and The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. I’m reading the former for review, and the latter with some friends as a buddy read.

Girl in Snow has a very weird, melancholic vibe that I’m enjoying, though it is a bit slow-moving. My opinions about The Cruel Prince are… to be determined. I really don’t like any of the characters, except maybe Jude and Vivi, but I am interested in how the story plays out. (Though I’m already aware of a pending romance, and let’s just say, I’m not aboard that ship.)

What did you recently finish reading?

The Power by Naomi Alderton and Would You Rather? by Katie Heaney. I read The Power as part of my local book and brunch club, and Would Your Rather? for review. (As you can see, I’m juggling at least two books at a time lately!)

The Power had an interesting concept but, in my opinion, not a very engaging execution, which was a bummer. It was fun to discuss with my fellow book clubbers, though. Would You Rather? was an unexpected gem; it’s now one of my favorite memoirs/essay collections, hands down! Katie Heaney is hilarious, relatable and honest, and had me thinking about my own life and relationships after each essay.

What will you read next?

My book club hasn’t picked our next book yet, so I’m not sure what/if I’ll be reading in that regard. And, honestly, I’m struggling to decide what to read next on my own! I’ve been reading so much from various genres, I think I may need a brain break. I guess reading a sequel in a series I love would be a good idea… Godsgrave or Morning Star, maybe?
