September 2018 Wrap-Up

Happy October, y’all! This is one of my favorite months of the year, so I’m not too sad to see September go. And now that it’s officially gone, it’s time for my September Wrap-Up!

I read a total of 19 books this month—eight actual books, one novella, four graphic novels, and six manga. The titles and ratings are below:

  • Pieces of Her by Karin Slaughter: ★★★★★
  • Paper Ghosts by Julia Heaberlin: ★★★
  • Providence by Caroline Kepnes: ★★★★
  • Believe Me by JP Delaney: ★★★★★
  • An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena: ★★★★★
  • A Man Called Ove by Fredrick Backman: ★★★
  • Queens of Fennbirn by Kendare Blake: ★★★★★
  • I Hear the Sunspot by Yuki Fumino: ★★★★
  • Wildcard by Marie Lu (ARC): ★★★★★
  • The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas (ARC): ★★★★
  • Saga, volume 3, by Brian K. Vaughan: ★★★★★
  • Lumberjanes, volumes 1-3, by Noelle Stevenson: Varied
  • Black Clover, volumes 2-6, by Yūki Tabata: Varied

I was most pleasantly surprised by the quality of the thrillers I read, but also with finding new manga and graphic novel series that I love! If I had to choose favorites, I think I’d go with Wildcard and Pieces of Her. I already knew I’d enjoy those, though, because I adore Marie Lu and Karin Slaughter. Unexpectedly good reads were Believe Me and I Hear the Sunspot!

How was your reading month in September? Planning any exciting books for your October TBR? I’m hoping to introduce some horror into mine!
